Duel Fuel Rocket Stove [Prototype]
My attempt at a duel-fuel rocket stove was fun to build, but it ultimately didn't perform. I think the main problem is scale. The 2-inch tube didn't allow for enough airflow. No draft ... no rocket. But I Iearned a lot in the process.

The Last Of The Rocket Kings
Переглядів 1,5 тис.5 місяців тому
I'm stopping production on my rocket stove and these are the last 25. I designed and Kickstarted the Rocket King stainless steel rocket stove in 2018. COVID supply chain issues jacked up the cost of stainless steel 3X and I can't make them anymore (for a reasonable price). So I'm closing down production, but you can snag one of the last batch for 20% OFF or get the plans and make it yourself. B...

I make a simple aircrete foam generator powered by my shop vac. Based on a viewer's comment, I used nylon window screen for the foam diffusion. I took the prototype through a few iterations to get the airflow and pressure correct. One more iteration to come using stainless steel wool for diffusion. How To Make Aircrete With A Tire For A Compressor
Переглядів 2 тис.8 місяців тому
I used an old trailer tire as an air compressor to power my DIY #aircrete foam generator. Really a pressure vessel, but it had enough pressure to generate a nice rich foam, which was blended into my cement slurry mixture to create aircrete. How long is the entire process?
Thanks for that! So I have my DREAM REQUEST.... Anyone know how to make a smokeless stove that somehow still can impart the wood smoke flavor on meat?
Excellent video! I would normally do it with wood as well, but since I had a 4’ Tupperware bin hanging around, I decided to use that. I knew from watching another video that I wanted to do a ramp and not pipes, like I’ve seen others do, because the BSFL doesn’t always use them, but couldn’t figure out how to seal the ramp to the wall. The bin walls are not completely flat, so the ramp doesn’t seal completely to it. I’ll use flashing, which I have a ton of lying around. One day I’ll build a custom, bigger one, but as you said, what I’m doing now is a good prototype.
It’s stunning how quickly they went through that chicken! Holy crap! I want to build one of these for my chickens. Did you put up the build video? It’s simple enough to build. I just want to see any little gotchas you might have run into. Edit: never mind. I went through your videos and I see it.
Why didn’t you just leave the orange plastic cap on and with a razor cut the end of it off then try putting on the hose? Just a thought. Nice work tho. 👍🏻

I think the side holes are slowing the the natural draw from the chimney forcing air through the air intake. There is too much air getting to the chimney but it's not running through the fuel.
@13:30, make sure you CLOSE the ball valve before glueing. Maybe you can get lucky, and the glue won't get into the valve mechanism, but best practice is to close the valve before glueing. Before I knew that, I made some joints with ball valves that I couldn't turn all the way off because they got glue in them!
Plasma cutter
Dry pour cement might be a cool video if you have not done one yet.
Yea, it seems like those ceramic or terra-cotta chimney caps are NOT as heat resistant as people think. If they are on top of your house, they only get about 200 degrees vs. the 1000 F you are giving it here.
how many mm thickness was the drain pan from the junkyard?
I like it but have to laugh at a “simpler” design… I mean it is in one way…. 😊
i think your side holes are too much. you want the 2nd air to get hot. but not bad
I know it's 7 years old but learning is learning. Clipping a sharp corner of flashing makes 2 sharp corners. Take a couple extra seconds and buff the 2 corners with a file to remove the sharp corners.
Always glad to see your videos Tom.
Nice video, although the music doesn't help at all
I don't know if I have mentioned it before but if you use a pot skirt around your pot you will use 30% less wood.
Maybe this is a dumb question but, what kind of worms?
Good information
The bsf daddy Phucks the hoochie mama house fly so hard so hard they run out the bin and move into the next neighborhood.
Waiting for hubby to put my aerator together, I’m the worm expert, but not mechanically inclined. But ready to make my first worm tea.
Ant problem fix is great
I always wondered how this process only attracts BSFs and not regular flies or other insects. Interestnig theory.
Very cool, I think having the valves lower down would be more practical
Parabéns pelo experimento. Te acompanho aqui do Brasil e vejo a sua evolução.
HUGE thumbs up on this!!! I'm definitely trying this on wisteria and virgina creeper.
Try to speak spanish, for yout fallowers from latin america 😅
Do you like the tarp better
Spring is not the time of year to do this. In Spring plants are sending upwards their juices contents. Instead wait till late Summer when that has stopped. Then perform this recommendation. Now it has all Fall when the plant reverses it's cycle and begins drawing downward juices and contents. This will take the salt directly down to the roots.
Silly boy, 😂😂, everything is made in China.
Name it Satan's Ass 😂
Can you grow grass in that area after?
I don’t think there’s any reason that wouldn’t work. As long as you have enough sunlight.
What brand center punch are you using?
I don’t remember where I got it. Likely Home Depot. Thank you for watching.
Why not connect the inverter to the load terminals?
did he ever explain this?
I’m not sure of the answer. I’m still learning about solar power myself. But, I’m sure others on UA-cam have answered it.
Nice work! Thanks!
Nice clay - use it to make Indore Compost - the best Compost ever
GreenShortz DIY, while I don't give a damn about the environment I can definitely see that you know what you are doing. Changing to the Step Bit was the right call. Thank you for the video.
Thanks for the feedback and for watching.
I would have used two pots, the outer one perforated around the lower 1/3 of the pot, the second pot perforated in the bottom, and lower 1/4 of the pot, then also about 1/2 inch from the top. Using a flat lid, cut the diameter of the inner pot just below the rolled top edge to support the “burn chamber” in the base pot, then find a deeply domed lid to create a cooking support. Have a good day!
Good suggestions. Thank you. And thank you for watching.
The chimney should be higher. Then the air draft in Plus some steel rod must be weld to keep the wood not block the air from the bottom pipe. The fuel itself must mot too many. If the rocket stove already hot I think it should be use a bigfer wood stick. Dried one of course. The best is if the rocket stove made of Stainless steel
Thank you, Alex. I appreciate your suggestions. Thank you for watching.
That is a very good stove actually. I have seen a few similar ones but you have more better bricks than ordinary.
Great! Glad you're not quitting!
15:50 Two discs in the grinder... BRILLIANT.
Thanks, John. I appreciate the compliment. Thank you for watching.
I dont get it: The Food and Drug Association (FDA) has approved the use of galvanized steel for food preparation and conveyance for all applications with the exception of foods that have a high acid content, such as tomatoes, oranges, limes, and other fruits. Doubt you’re gonna do limes in your rocket stove. I’d have assembled it and fired up the rocket stove and let it do what it does best.
I’ve heard a couple of things on this. Primarily that the heat releases the zink which can be inhaled. However, some commenters have said it takes a welding arc temperature to truly vaporize it. And that the negative results of inhaling are temporary. So, I’m taking the safe route here to remove it. Without the fire factor the galvanized coating is safe. Thank you for the feedback.

I'm glad you're not quitting. I still like seeing your videos
I designed one that I think works a whole lot better but if you are happy with it great I know I don’t think I would be Also, PVC pipe is not really rated for the pressures of an air compressor
